Duet (semi-private) sessions

Where you’re at

You may have suffered with back pain in the past and have a busy life, with work and/or family commitments that mean you aren’t as active as you used to be, so you’ve got out of the habit of doing the things you know you need to do to keep yourself healthy. You don’t get enough ‘me’ time and are looking for something that will improve your core strength, flexibility and posture and look after your back all while having fun with a friend or family member. Maybe you want to encourage them to look after themselves too!

What problems might you be facing right now?

You spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, standing or travelling and have noticed you’re starting to feel a bit more your age. Stiffness, aches and pains aren’t going away and your posture is suffering (you may be worried that you look a bit stooped or aren’t standing as tall as you once did). You know that you should be doing something to look after yourself as your body isn’t feeling its best and you don’t want your back pain to come back.

How can duet sessions help you?

Duet sessions (which last an hour) can help you get into a regular exercise routine and strengthen and stretch your body without having to pound your body in a gym. You’ll still get the social aspect as you’ll be working out with a buddy and be able to give each other mutual encouragement, but you’ll also have the added benefit of close oversight and lots of hands-on correction. Sessions will be tailored to you and your buddy’s goals and you’ll both get lots of support.

It includes:

  • Duet sessions at Beth’s studio or virtually via Zoom or Skype (don’t worry, the technology is easy and all you need is a wifi connection). The sessions will encompass exercises on the mat and a range of specialist Pilates equipment, including the reformer, chair, cadillac, barrels and small equipment and – when in the studio – you will be either both be working on the reformers or you may be moved around the different equipment.
  • Personalised exercises to do on your own, as appropriate.
